Mayar Bhan is a welcoming holiday home in Laide, near Gairloch in Wester Ross.
The welcome doesn’t end at our beautiful home. The area is famous for its welcoming cafes, restaurants and hotels, which serve fine foods and drinks to the many visitors who come to this part of Scotland.
We have listed some of our favourite eateries below.
Bridge Cafe, Poolewe
Michael and Connie's cakes are excellent and the rest of the menu is pretty good. Small gallery upstairs and also does the Sunday papers - our first choice always.
Mountain Coffee, Gairloch
Located at Strath, Gairloch, this bookshop/cafe offers a great selection of books, good coffee and cakes.
Perfume Studio, Mellon Charles
Great food and vista out to Loch Ewe but spare a thought for the sailors who headed out to the arctic from here in WWII
The Bothy, Inverewe Gardens
The menu is changed daily and features the very best locally sourced ingredients, including ‘field to fork’ meats that come from the Inverewe estate as well as Torridon and Canna.
The Shieling Resteraunt, Gairloch
Good food in bright and spacious surroundings with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere make the Shieling one of Gairloch's most popular restaurants
Ocean View, Laide
Opened in 2020 with a cafe and restaurant - only a few hundred yards walk from Mayar Bhan. Perfect!
